This is what i call line washing.You later dry brush over this (just keep going till it looks right to you they can be as feint or as bold as you like,let each coat dry though.)

The islander is looking good, keep up the good work.

Is that a dull yellow undercoat followed by preshadding then a brighter yellow top coat? it looks like a good way to get a strong yellow I must try it.

I LOVE IT!! I've always wanted to figure out an effective means of painting a bright yellow aircraft like this. I'm going to copy your method whole cloth :)

That looks great!!!

And your diorama base is also fantastic. I didn't realize how difficult it is to model a realistic grass field until I tried doing it myself.
Yours is spot on!
