Looks great on the shelf Greg. Almost like it is under the flight deck.

Thank you all very much.

I'm looking at another older 1/48 kit right now. The Monogram F-101 Voodoo. It's another one of those that I started and shelved unfinished a few years ago. I got as far as getting the basic airframe together then for whatever reason just never finished it. I went on a Monogram kick back in the mid 1980's. They were state of the art and relatively inexpensive. I've pulled it out to the bench just to see where I left off and it's really begging me to finish it. I don't have the box anymore, so all the parts, instructions and decal sheet are in a plastic tub. It's another biggie. I may have to build myself another display case.

Any of you interested it see this one get done?

I scalped the original box art off the web, just for nostalgias sake.

I just piddled with the Voodoo today. I shot some green in the wheel wells and some red on the gear door interiors. I also gave the cockpit tub and IP panels a coat of dark gull gray and dabbed a little black on the instrument faces. I just had some spare time on my hands, so off to the bench I went.

You sure do like them big Greg! I find it difficult to go back to a model I started a while ago. I end of seeing mistakes or things I would do differently. Anyways, it's coming along nicely.

Thanks gents. Paul, it not that I nessessarily like them big, it's just that I had them in the stash. I only have two more 1/48 kits left. An F-111 that's a true piece of crap. And a Mi-24 Hind that I probably won't ever build.
I'm just trying to finish up some shelf queens before I start anything else from the gate.

Then there is my long term TITANIC build that's languishing........

A Voodoo, nice choice and a great start to it. I've never built a Monogram kit but from what I have seen, some of the company's 1/48th aircraft kits look great for their age.

Thanks Shaun, this would have to be one of their better efforts. Mine is the first generation molding and is very crisp. There's some fit issues at the wing roots but that's to be expected. Otherwise is struggle free build so far.

Thank you gents. Since I've returned to work things at the vault have slowed down. Getting back in the groove at the job has been a bit of a drag. I do love the work but it is tiring. Now that the summer heat has set in the shop hovers around the 85 to 89 degree mark. Sorry thats Fahrenheit, for you Celsius folks that's in the 30 degree mark. Trust me its uncomfortably warm, and saps your energy.

So instead of hitting the bench I've been hitting the sack. I get up at 5:15 of a morning, drive to work, and get back home around 5:00 in the afternoon. Shower and have dinner an hour or two of tv and it's off to bed.But I did get some bench time today and gave the Voodoo's cockpit a once over with some paint and glued up the seats, and got some paint on them.

That's all for now, thanks for looking.
