Fantastic work as always Mike. Sorry about your printer. Does anyone actually make these printers any longer?

Looking good, Mike. Too bad about all the pictures in the old cabin. I'll miss swinging by to oogle and drool over your pictures. Sorry to hear of your printer woes, too.

Thanks for the kind words Image

Thanks PGAS. Unfortunately not, the ALPS was discontinued many years ago and now the inks are no longer produced. Apparently there's a laser printer out there that will print white but it's out of my price range.

Lovely work on that Mossie, Beau and egg-plane thing Mike.

It's a shame to hear about your printer, I have a few sets of your decals and they were very good - I still need to build my Ding Hao! at some point.

Thanks Stuart. I should perhaps clarify: it's only the custom, one-off decal sheets that I'm no longer able to produce, for which I used the ALPS-printer. The vast majority of my decal sheets are screen-printed, such as the 'Ding-Hao' P-51 sheet; those are still available and being produced.

Ah I see! That's good to hear as it's a good side line you've got there!

I finally finished this Tristar 1/35 Panzer 38(t). Definitely a step out of my comfort zone, but I really enjoyed playing with some new techniques like hair-spray weathering and pastels. However I really messed up the separate-link tracks, to the extent that I may rip them off at some point and replace them with a Friulmodel metal set. In my defense this is only my second attempt at separate links, (the first was 15 years ago) so it's not exactly a habit. I learnt a lot though so hopefully the next attempt will be better.

The rust effect is spot on Mike, how did you achieve it?
Best wishes

Fine work, Mike. Nice to see that one in something other than the usual dark gray. The ware effect on the shovel blade really caught my eye.

I think the links look fine. Something I realized is that armor modelers overdo (what?! Armor modelers overdoing something?!?!?! wHAAAA?!?!?!?) the sag in tracks.

Yeah, they sometimes sag a lot IRL, but the semi-tight look, especially one where there is less sag the closer you get to the drive sprocket - well - you know what that does? It animates the tank. It looks like its moving. Check out photos of tanks in motion, its the same effect.

So don't beat yourself up - you did something awesome!

I appreciate the encouragement. Doesn't explain why I put the tracks on back-to-front though

Nice work, Mike.

I'd never have known about the tracks if you hadn't mentioned it.
