Migrant suggest this "first timer" air brush:

Just bought a air brush and thought a air hose was included lucky it was not because I need a 1-8 to 1-4 hose to attach to my pancake compressor.

Not sure i can turn down the pressure to levels for an air brush or need to buy an air brush compressor?

I'll have to see if worth the money; airbrush, hose, mag glasses. Time will tell. The item have been shipped.

Have to take that 1969 Mustang out of my Stash list...as it is now on my workbench! Just painted the interior parts and assembly

You have all the ingredients for a fab diorama...

I want to buy a Hobbyboss or Academy Texan T-6 first and build in the WED scheme. Your suggestion would be the icing on the cake so to speak.

But my first attempt at a Ju-52 1/144 was just to small scale for my skill level. I have a Airfix 1/72 waiting to be build....

I found a jpeg template to print and cut for a Where eagle Dare Ju-52 camo.

Just do not know how to size and print to the plane size?

fredk wrote:Print out a copy on A4 paper. Make it as big as you can go.
1. measure the wing span on the plan
2. measure the wing span on the kit
3. divide answer 2 by answer 1 - this will give a number
4. take A4 copy to copy shop and get them to enlarge the A4 copy by the number gained in step 3

5 repeat for fuselage length as quite often the length isn't to the same exact scale as the w/s on drawings
jRatz wrote:Michael,

What Fred describes is correct, but in this case the hard way as your image has both scale and a ruler, so it is a simple matter of verifying if the image needs to be resized to give you a correct 1/72 scale image.

Mike's 2 inches.
The ruler on the drawing shows 12ft. The scale says 1/72.
12ft x 12in/ft = 144 in. 144in/72 = 2in.

OK, so you know the ruler should be 2in.
Suppose it measures 1in - then you would double the image to get the correct size.
Suppose it measures 4in - then you would halve the image to get the correct size .... and so on.

But Fred does bring up two interesting points.
1. If you had no scale or no ruler then you would have to compare the image size to the real aircraft and figure out what scale it really is, then convert it to 1/72.
2. Photocopiers do not always expand/reduce by the same amount length vs width -- may be off a percent or two, it's a function of the process/machinery. What I usually do it draw two intersecting equal-length perpendicular rulers on the sheet. Then I can measure the output from the copier to see if they are still the same length or at least close enough. If not, I need a new copier or maybe just adjust whatever factor I am using to get the overall close enough.

I just bought a 1/72 Texan T-6 G Hobbyboss from ebay.

For this Where Eagle Dare "german" airplane build. Maybe I can i find a Bell 47 helicopter kit for the "german" helicopter in the movie too.

I found a couple, need to check my budget before buying...

I hope I have the right model (I think i need the G not the D) for what was used in the Where Eagles Dares movie.

I would have use these screenshots to try build the kit to the movie copter. It has white and black German cross and white with two red strips

on the rear rotor blades. The bubble looks a dark grey? It also has doors which I think this MASH copter does not and has racks for med evac.

The movie copter does not have these med evac racks. I could leave them off?

I have do some research which copter was used in the movie, I have see a couple site regarding planes and copters in the movie from previous

searches.

The MASH OH13 builds up well. Has optional decals for the Movie and real life versions.

Check for my PM. Revell has re-popped that kit for a far lower cost. Even mail order with shipping is lower.

Thanks Splash,

All I know is the movie used a Bell 47? As to type I am not sure? So it is a Bell 47 Sioux?

I keep it in mind, I am trying to keep airplane and copter in 1/72 scale

Very nice build
