Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
As I'm now back from a family holiday I can get back into the swing of things again.
The Centaur Dozer now sports some paint, after adding a bit of detail around the hatch area with some thin bits of scrap plastic card.
I have also pre-painted the inners faces of all the dozer assemblies, before fitting, to aid the final painting:
Updates will now continue again

Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
Flitting back and forth I have returned to the 1/48th Bedford MWD and completed the assembly of the second pilot that will be transported, plus it has been decaled:
Here they are posed together in the truck.
I have also made some more ground with the Dozer and this is now completely assembled and now requiring paint:

A pair of great builds, Corricon. The pilot figures are in good natural poses in the back of the Bedford.

Some more progress with the centaur in that it's now ready for some decals:
Whilst this is drying I commenced the 1/35 Saladin I've been meaning to start for a while, this is one sides suspension set up:

Great work with the Centaur and that Saladin hull looks very nice.

Nice Centaur, and the Saladin has more detail than my old Tamiya 35th scale kit

Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
Nigel, the Saladin is the Dragon Black Label kit, which now has the other sides running gear attached and the engine covers and rear panel cemented in place:
I have also added some stowage to the Dozer and got it 'Kleared' ready for some markings:
Finally the Bedford MWD pilots have some paint on them (still to be completed) and I have also added a few bits of stowage to the truck bed too:
Updates will follow, thanks for watching.

I've seen nothing but complaints about the Black Label Saladin. Is it really as bad as the interwebs claim? I don't know much about the type.

Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
I suppose it's whether you want it to be totally accurate or whether you want a fair representation of a Saladin.
It does seem to go together quite easily, however you do have to study the instructions well especially where the running gear is concerned!
I have some resin enhancements for this one, including new hatch covers with inside details along with some aftermarket wheels too.
In my eyes it 'looks' like a Saladin, but I suppose for the purists it feels short for what is to all intense and purposes a 'modern' kit. However I believe it is much better than the Tamiya offering from years back. There is an Accurate Armour version of the 1/35 Saladin but it is quite costly (close to 100 POUNDS I believe), whereas I managed to source this one for around the 35 pound mark, add the extra resin and wheels and it comes to around 65 pounds, so quite a bit cheaper plus its a plastic kit and not a resin one.
Here's another update with the mudguards and triangular lockers fitted:

Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
Nice bit of painting, Corricon. I know nowt about the Black Label Saladin but the detail looks good from here. Modern armour kits don't come cheap even in plastic, which is why I tend to stick to building older stuff. Accurate Armour have always been pricey. There is no way I would pay a 100 quid for a kit of anything. I'm far too tight for that

Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
More progress this morning sees the Centaur Dozer now completed:
The Bedford now has it's pilots cemented in place and the painting completed on these and the extra stowage. I have also added the lights and mirrors:
These will need some weathering to tone them down a bit.
Here's a shot with the tilt fitted:
and how it looks from the rear:
Once it is completed I will be leaving the tilt dry fitted so it can be removed to view the interior.

Re: Corricon's Workbench Window 2017
Seeing as I have finished the Dozer I thought I'd get yet another from the stash.
I had already used one of the Bedfords from an Airfix QLs set to kit bash the Bedford QL Refueller and as I have a resin conversion set for a QLR I thought I'd have a crack at that.
So utilising the QLD that was left from the set I set about constructing the chassis.
After about a couple of hours the chassis was done and I had started the construction of the resin body, here it is with the wheels and body dry fitted to the chassis:
The body is essentially a large resin block with the front and 2 side lockers added to it.
Updates to follow.
