That Bedford conversion looks interesting, Corricon and I bet that block of resin body is quite weighty for a small model. Very nice looking Saladin turret.

Yes Shaun, just weighty enough to keep all four wheels on the ground together whilst the glue was setting on the chassis. Was very pleased with how the Saladin turret came out myself.

Will the Bedford need nose weight?

No Nigel, as you can see by the photos below, as I have started construction of the cab and it still sits on all four wheels:



Also today I started another conversion (my most ambitious yet) the 1/72 Chieftain ARV from S and S Models but trying to base it on the Airfix kit.
I have one side's running gear made up and have tried it for size against the new hull as shown below. It will need a little fettling here and there but I think it will look reasonable once completed:

Thanks for the honest assessment of the Saladin. I usually just get snotty replies when I ask such things on the dedicated armor pages.

Those resin hatches look good. I'm surprise though that DML doesn't include such basic details.

Much like modern Tamiya kits still have solid bars to represent grab Handel's, and periscope on US tanks are always moulded in the lowered position. Aarrgh!!!

You're welcome, I supose Dragon was up for saving costs with the Saladin as it is supposed to be a budget type kit.
Forgot to mention that the QLR conversion comes from Milicast.

Wow! those are some outstanding braille scale builds. Looking forward to them progressing.

Have also got the running gear installed on the Chieftain ARV. This has involved some scratch building to replace the lower hull to give the running gear something to hang on to:

A little more progress with the 1/35 Saladin.
Most of the hull is now built so we are getting close to some paintwork. I have also removed the moulded in rear and front sidelights and indicators as I intend to replace these with some coloured gemstones of the appropriate size:



From these two shots you can also see the extent of the after market resin enhancement pieces too.
