Welcome to the new workbench thread. As all the photos on my old thread are no longer visible I have decided to make a fresh start.
So here we go then, on the bench at the moment…

Italeri SU-27 Flanker-B, Airfix Aichi Val x2 and Aero72’s Venture T2.
The Revell Hawker Fury I was working on was completed last month. Photos are in the aviation section here...

I finished the cockpit on the Venture. Masking tape seat belts and scratch built instrument panel and floor. The kit comes with a control column – I added the central lever.

A quick look at the parts and how it will fit together…

The propeller did not have a cone so I made one from plastic sprue and stuck it on the end. I’m not sure if there is supposed to be one in the kit or not but all the pictures I have show a nose cone on the real aircraft so I thought it best to add one.

I will br watching the Venture build closely. I have thst kit and the Venture is the first aircraft I flew in, and the first I had 'hands on' in. Now ihave a hankering to get mine built.
All the best.

The Venture looks interesting, Stu, I don't recall seeing a build of a motor glider type on here before. Nicely done.

Cheers Greg, it might take me a while but I'll try to update as often as I can.

Hi Shaun, I built a Vigilant a few years back. There's a post on here in the aviation section but no pictures anymore so here's one for you.

I'm looking forward to comparing the two side by side eventually.

The Venture now has its wings and tail. There is a slight groove in the fuselage which helps to place the wings. Good modellers would probably also use some pins in the wings but I just stuck mine on with good old tube glue which seemed to work fine.
I used a bit of filler around the parts, cleaned up the joins at the front and back of the cockpit and that’s about it for the main assembly. There are only small parts left and the canopy to go on.

I’ve started with the fighters and so far I’ve made some pretty good progress. Both kits have some nice detail. The Hurricane has a very nice instrument panel with detail in the gauges that can be drybrushed to stand out.

The spifire has a choice of wings and I’ve chosen the clipped wing option. Here’s the cockpit…

I'll try to get some pictures of the clipped wing soon.

Both the cockpits are looking good! The Revell Lancaster also build up nicely as I remember; it was the first kit I built on my return to modelling about ten years ago
