Your comments are much appreciated.

Spent most of the afternoon working on the rest of the stowage:

I need to get it in place before I add any pigments. Some of it is still glossy as I need to add some washes.

We were away the other week so I'm playing catch up here a little, Paddy, but what superb work, simply excellent - I think every time you build a model my jaw drops

Hooley Dooley!
Those bits are superbly painted and finished! Who needs the underlying vehicle?

Cheers,

David

Thanks for looking in and the kind comments, guys.
The Centurion is now finished and in the AFV Gallery. Now its on with the diorama.
First thing was to get the crew finished:
Image

As I have resigned myself to the fact that the quality enamels of yesterday are no more, I have done these in Vallejo acrylics.
I'm still trying to get used to the layering technique rather than blending, so they are a little rough, but I'm going with then anyway.
As the lower half won't be seen, I didn't bother with any detail work there.

Can't believe the figures are done in acrylic! Very nice. The stowage above looks very realistic. And that Centurion. So sharp it hurts my eyes. Stunning!

Thank you Paul.
Next up is this:
Image

But I'm only building it as the regular jeep version.
Its going to be part of the Centurion diorama.

After an hour or so, I got this far:
Image

I drilled out the lightening holes in all the wheels, probably wont even be noticeable when its finished
I also filed down the headlights as I have a set of SKP lenses to add.
I don't want to assemble to much of this yet, as I'm doing it in a four colour MERDC camo and its easier without too many fiddly bits to break when masking.

Great bit of figure painting, Paddy and that old Tamiya Ford MUTT kit is not bad at all from what I recall of building one.

Cheers Shaun.
Its a great little kit, just needs a few little bits added.
First I added some pedals. Not 100% accurate in shape, but they serve a purpose.
Image

Then I scratch built a new bracket for the Marine version exhaust. The kit supplied one is a bit thick and doesn't extend down the side of the vehicle like it should.
Image

Then I got a coat of primer on everything apart from the front seats. I have added some green putty to the rear of them, as the kit seat are just plain and smooth, while the real ones usually had a cover over them that contained a storage pocket. Forgot to photograph them, but I'll post them up next time.

Image

I've to sort out what colours I need, then I'll get some paint on it today.
