Great progress, Paddy. I added driver's pedals to my MUTT as well (mine aren't 100% accurate either and are more an exercise in fooling the eye!) - a worthwhile addition IMHO as the driver's footwell is quite visible on the completed model.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

Thanks guys.

Here's the seats after a coat of paint:
Image
I also sanded the edges of each seat to make them look a bit more worn and not as uniform.

After three attempts at the camouflage  I'm settling with this:

I'll get the other bits and bobs on tomorrow, although I'm leaving the wheels off until I weather the wheel wells.
Regards, Paddy.

The jeep is 99% complete, just a bit of work on the tires and some stowage in the back.

I've started on the Marines from the Multi National Force:

They are both white metal figures from the 80s.
The Capt on the left is from Chota Sahib and the other guy is from Cheshire Volunteer. Two companies long defunct.
They have been primed and base coated in Tamiya Desert Sand. The rest of the Woodland camo will be hand painted
Regards, Paddy.

Hi, Paddy. The jeep is very well modelled.
How did you blend the high contrast camo colours together, and lighten it all up?

Thanks Jim

59N - I painted the raised areas a lighter shade of the camo colours. I normally add a filter/glaze to blend camo colours but I'm a bit pushed for time with this, so I used Ammo for MIG and AK Interactive pigments.
I used the MIG pigment (Rubble) over most of the vehicle to blend the colours. A bit heavier on the lower edges. The faded parts on the bonnet (hood) are done with the AK pigment (middle east soil), as they have a tendency to 'stain' more than the MIG ones.
Hope that makes sense.
Regards, Paddy.

Happy to help. Should also have mentioned I used a dark pin wash around any details. :)

Love the Jeep Paddy. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the masking of the camo and what order do you paint the colour?

This is it. The moment we should have trained for.

Thanks Paul

I used Tamiya tape for the masking.
Colours used and order painted was:

Vallejo US dark green
Vallejo US Field drab
Tamiya Buff
Vallejo Black grey

I masked and sprayed the field drab and buff, but painted the black grey by hand.
Regards, Paddy.

Thanks Bilby.
The Marine capt is finished:

I still want a second marine in the dio, but rather than run out of time on the GB, I've made a start on the base and hope to get back to him before the end.
Here's the basic layout using modelling foamboard. It represents a small intersection on the outskirts of Beirut:

Its pretty easy to engrave details into this stuff.
I've had to leave it like this for tonight while the glue dries. I've used PVA as anything else seems to melt the foam board.
Regards, Paddy.

Have to echo everyone else's comments. That Jeep and the figures look amazing. Where are the figures from?

Great start to the diorama; have you tried 'foam-safe' CA adhesive? Quicker than PVA but I cannot vouch for it with the type of foam you are using. Less fume than normal CA too!
Best wishes
