Re: Miguelito's untidy work bench
Finally got the Brengun A-36 to the point that it's ready for paint. Seemed like this one fought every step of the way. It's an interesting plane, and I'm surprised with all the attention to P-51's that there hasn't been more attention to the dive-bomber version by model companies.
The struts/wheels, prop and bombs have been primed separately.

Nicely masked cockpit glazing. Wish mine were as neat.

Thanks, but I cheated and used a mask for it.Clashcityrocker wrote:Nicely masked cockpit glazing. Wish mine were as neat.

Was really worth it. Very easy to use. We’ll see how it worked out.

Re: Miguelito's untidy work bench
Well, the A-36 Apache is finally in the home stretch. Just got the decals on and coated with some setting solution.
Just a few details to pick out, the a dull coat, and some light weathering, and it'll finally be done. This one fought me on every step, to the point that early issues would rear their ugly head while dealing with later issues (such as the instrument panel coming lose, while attaching the resin intake).

That looks spot on; the dive brakes really add to the build
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Nice one, Mig and it is a bit of a shame that the A-36 hasn't garnered more interest from the kit industry.

Beautiful Apache. Your Spit turned out very nice as well. I like the clipped wings.

This is it. The moment we should have trained for.

Thanks, Iggie. I have to admit, it turned out better than I thought it would. Especially, around the wings, which needed a lot of work.iggie wrote:That looks spot on; the dive brakes really add to the build
Thanks. I couldn't agree more about a BIG kit company making an Apache kit. Other than this one, I think they only other choice is an old Condor kit.ShaunW wrote:Nice one, Mig and it is a bit of a shame that the A-36 hasn't garnered more interest from the kit industry.
Thanks, Paddy.PTB11 wrote:That looks fantastic.
Thanks! I like the look of the clipped wing Spits too, but they don't seem to get as much love.PGAS wrote:Beautiful Apache. Your Spit turned out very nice as well. I like the clipped wings.

Re: Miguelito's untidy work bench
Not much progress on the WIPs on the bench. I did get the Matchbox Sd Kfz 231 painted. I think the "panzer grey" is too dark, but I"m not going to change it, so it is what it is. I also started painting the figures that came with it, but I've only done flesh at the moment. Here's where things stand for the moment.

Good eye. He’s from another set and I figured I’d try to get 3 birds with one brush.Ratch wrote:Nice

Nicely done, Mig, I like the look of that - perhaps try a bit of dry brushing with lighter shades of grey if you're not happy and there is always the mud option as well, with it being a military vehicle build

Lovely little diorama and that A-36 is very nice indeed.
