Spectacular! Agree totally, I've seen worse. Disagree with you though in that I've not seen better that I can recall. Cracking job Shaun
Best wishes

I've also built the Tamiya 1/48th P-51, Stuart and I'd say that this kit is on a par. The cockpit on this is not crammed with detail and the seat is a bit weak but on the plus side the external detail is nicely done and there is the option not only for drooped flaps but also opened leading edge slats, which are a characteristic of the full-size and usually require scratch building for AMS sufferers like myself. I'm toying with the idea of building the old Airfix 1/48th '109F next and that will require a fair bit of surgery to the wings.
Thanks for the info Shaun, I may have to get one. As it is I have their Me262 on order.
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...

Once again, many thanks for your kind words folks.

After the trials of spraying blotches yesterday, it was an easy life today. Off with the remainder of the masking and on with the clear coat - Humbrol Gloss Coat applied by airbrush using the medium needle/nozzle set up and thinned with cheap DIY store white spirit:

Fortunately the painted and masked white theatre band came out OK with nothing more than a whisker of bleed through to touch up. I'm really not keen on using stripe decals for such markings even though it can be a PITA to mask and paint them.

Hopefully she'll dry glossy enough to start the decals tomorrow or otherwise it's more gloss coat and a further wait.

Thanks for looking.

Many thanks, Stuart!

Today I made a start on the decals and the model is now starting to come to life. The decals are typical Tamiya for the period, relatively thick and glossy but with good colour density and so far they've behaved themselves!

Hopefully I'll get more done tomorrow.

That mottle may have pushed your airbrush skills but you still pulled off an excellent finish - very convincing. I can only wish that I had that skill... Looking forward to seeing tis one in the completed models section.
