Re: VMA131Marine's Geedunk
Here is my latest completion: it's the new-ish tool Airfix 1/72 A6M2 Zero from the original release boxing. I took some liberties with the camo scheme, painting it like an A6M5; since this aircraft was from a training squadron later in the war, I figured that was reasonable. I am aware that the underside colour should probably be trainer orange yellow, but went with Gunze IJN Grey anyway. Paint chipping was accomplished with a silver pencil. It's the first time I've tried this and, while my technique still needs some work, I'm happy with this as my first attempt. It is easier than trying to dab random blobs of silver paint.
Hope you like it!

Very nicely done indeed!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Very smart! That chipping worked well.

Re: VMA131Marine's Geedunk
Well, it's really been a while since I posted anything here. It's also been a while since I finished a model, other than a 1/350 Riich Models Los Angeles Class submarine as SSN-722 USS Key West for a friend who's son serves aboard her.
Anyway, first up is the Heller 1/72 P-39Q, finished with Eagle Strike decals for "Snooks 2nd." This was part of a Christmas club challenge to finish a kit by this past weekend for the ValleyCon show in Chicopee, Massachusetts this past weekend. And, I did get it done on time, barely!
It's actually not a bad kit, and is more accurate, in many ways, than newer offerings from HobbyBoss and Academy. I might have to try one of the RS Models early P-39s. I've got a set of decals for a nice "D" model.
Oh, and this was brush painted with Vallejo Air, though I did airbrush the gloss and flat coats.
On to the pictures

Good to see you back. Very nice looking P39.

Re: VMA131Marine's Geedunk
Next one up, and finished in time to receive a Bronze in the show is my Tamiya 1/48 Joseph Stalin II tank. This was a fun and easy kit to build that took me way longer to finish than it should have:

Re: VMA131Marine's Geedunk
Another completion for ValleyCon Is the Airfix 1/72 F4F-4 Wildcat finished in the kit supplied markings for Marion Carl's aircraft. I did a bit of pre-shading on this model and am happy with how it turned out. Paint is Vallejo Air, which I'm really starting to enjoy using. It even brushes on well.

Nice work on all four, but the Wildcat is the stand out one for me!
Best wishes

A really great trio of builds, VMA and well done in picking up a bronze medal for the IS II tank. Your ongoing Mossie looks to be shaping up to be yet another beauty.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
