A great pair of trainers Shaun. Nice work.
I know that JP in the pictures prerry well. And know Jeff Bell who owns it. I had a good look around it whilst taking pictures of it for the production of a diecast JP5 in the Skymax range. One version of which is that actual aircraft.
Looking forward to more Tbird types.

All the best.

Cheers folks and many thanks for the pics Ian. Trouble is they are in focus and show close-up detail. Which means comparisons can be made to my effort in plastic - that is not always a good thing :ha:

Anyhoo, the decals are going on both the JP and Hawk and I'll post up some piccies in due course.

Okeydokey, here are some pics of the models after the decal session. Main markings - such as roundels, code numbers, fin flashes, are Xtradecal. Stencils are a mixture of what came with each kit and some from Revell Tornado and Sea King left overs (just to confuse the ground crew :ha: ) that look about right and also serve to cover some bloopers in the paint jobs! Trickiest to apply were the wing leading edge "no step" markings and walkway lines on the JP, which are a mix of Revell Tornado (the no step) and 1/48th Airfix Seafire (the stripes) and the little 77's on the flaps, which weren't included on the Xtradecal sheet and for which I used those little numbers that appear on decal sheets in order to identify individual decals - they were an utter, utter, PITA to apply and line up!

I'll now carry out a bit more touching up of the paint before applying the final clear coat - especially on the JP's leading edges, which have become a little scruffy due to handling the model.

Thanks for looking.

Shaun. The training paint scheme is very striking! Always liked it. Fine fine trainers you've made there sir.

Many thanks guys, you are very kind. I've been busy with non-modelling stuff (aka gardening  ) for quite a lot of the weekend so haven't made further progress.
