The FwD-9 is finished and I have just realised that it has only taken five days from start to finish, I am going to have to slow it down a bit me thinks.
Another kit I like, simple to put together and looks great when built although it could have done with a few more stencils on the decal sheet along with a spinner decal and warning decal for the armoured seat but that's down to personal taste.( I used some from the spares box)

I had a slight accident with my airbrush needle, I forgot to put the nozzle back on before I rammed it into the holder so consequently I bent the end slightly.
It's not all bad because if I can't straighten out the end of the needle then I have my spare airbrush I can use until I get a replacement. :), so no biggy.

Anyway here is the Fw.

Thanks Bruce and Ralph.

The T-1 version was designed to fly off an aircraft carrier and it was fitted with hooks for catching the rope of the catapult and also had lengthened wings.
The T-2 version was designed for flying from land and so the hooks were not fitted but it kept the extended wings which gave it short take off and landing capabilities.
A combined total of 70 were built some being posted to training units but some did see action and score kills with JG 11 operating from Helgoland which only had two 800 metre runways.

I have not done much recently as I have been a busy bee working so not really felt much love at the work bench .
Also I couldn't fix my needle on my airbrush so had to use my old one instead which to be honest is not up to the task anymore so I will have to order another one
This is how the 109T-2 looks at the moment although the camo is not exact it's the best I could do with my oldie brush.

Adding the resin extended wing tips was a lot easier than I thought it would be and over all the model has been a breeze to put together.
I have sprayed the yellow band which is not shown on the box top but is on the sides.

I will start adding the decals shortly but most probably won't finish it before going on my hols.

Camo looks good from where I'm sitting.

Wow, fantastic camo! Am I correct that this represents a splinter pattern, oversprayed with the light gray? If so, than it looks about right. If you're concerned about the coarse grain on some areas, then I thin you needn't worry. When you spray on your clear coats, add just a few drops of the gray color to them, and it will then act as a sort of filter coat which should help tie everything together.

Thanks guys for your comments.

I must admit that I have been rushing this model somewhat just so I could complete it before my hols but have now conceded that is just not going to happen.
As you can see there is still a bit more decalaling to do as well as some danglies to add so by the time I get back in a couple of weeks I should have a new airbrush to play with and hopefully tidy the RLM76 over pattern up a bit more even with the main decals attached.

Thanks OT and Dirk.
The camo looks a lot better now I have gone over it again with the new airbrush, well as much as I could any how.

I re-painted the spinner, backplate and top of thefilter with Xtracrylix red arrows red which was a near perfect match with the flame decals.
Added an aerial wire and did some weathering.

Thanks Bromo.
I have not managed to do any of my planned builds but then there is plenty of time for that, but I have managed to start an Eduard 1/144 bf109f that was going to be put back into the loft after Brews did not require it but to be honest I could not be bothered to clamber up there for such a titchy box so I started it instead and sort of finished it after about 4 hours work.

I had forgotten how small these are in 1/144.

I have decided to build another 1/144 kit but this one is a lot bigger than the bf109f.
