+3, that is a great looking engine compartment 8-) The Su-33 is another serious bit of Russian equipment as well and I look forward to seeing it come together.

A good deal of progress since the last update.

First, the cockpit is done. I'm not thrilled with it, and regret not getting a PE detail set. The zvezda decals were very poor, so I augmented them with color pencils and clear coats. I also added some harnesses from tape with micron pen drawn hardware.

Several shades of black to set things apart. Looks better to the naked eye.

Pics taken and uploaded via my phone, so hopefully not too blurry. Can't tell on the tiny screen. :/

Most of the airframe is complete too.

Great modelling! Love the metal colours

I have built the Revell boxing of this and it really lends itself to some extra time and effort with the amount of panels that can be left open to reveal internal workings
Best wishes

Nice work Ig. Did you have any trouble fitting the canopies? I'm about to get to that stage, and am a bit apprehensive.

It's been a while since I built it, but I don't recall any major problems other than the reason why the front canopy is in the raised position is that it would have fallen through the opening if closed!

It's a great cockpit.
It gives a good idea of the real one.
And also the engine detail it's fine and realistic.
Sometimes the talent consists exactly in that: try five dozen times when others stop at three dozen...! (F.Labelle)
I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......

Thank you, Sirs.

A quick update.
Getting closer to the paint stage.

Doors closedtemporarilutemporarily for painting

The tail planes broke off when my cheap IKEA paint rack decided it was time to collapse. Thank goodness that was the only damage.

Also added a simple HUD from scrap PE frames and a clear plastic shirt collar stiffener.

Not accurate, but gives the model a little extra something.
