Very cool looking submarine, and the Dora really came out nicely. I like the weathering very much. Great work!

You have mastered the art of subtle weathering. That sub is a prime example.
Top jobs!

Two lovely finishes indeed. The shading is top notch.

Thank You again,
I was not stagnant with JP T Mk.5. Indeed Sword kit proved to be worthy adversary as did my heavy-handiness. The state of affairs as of tonight:
Puttied, sanded and rescribed. Canopy attached ... 3 times due to my own errors. It is good I am using Gator glue not CA, otherwise I would have a permanent JP canopy attached to my fingers.

I see Sword has the correct frames on the JP's canopy unlike the old Airfix kit that I am building!

Your workbench fight with JP is actually a reason the canopy went out first time :). I realized I had not attached the vertical bar :) only after reading your thread. So THANK YOU!

Work in progress on Nifty Fifties GB SPAD and Mystere IV

Image

Mystere is ready for blowing some metal particles on :) while Spad is still in its infancy.

Similarly to Mystere, JP got its coat of modulated primer. For the first time I will try to shoot both white and red onto such a dark background.

I may succeed or not, we will see.

That pre-shading looks interesting Marek and I'm intrigued to see how it will turn out, especially on the Provost (I'm glad my thread was of help to your build!).

I love the Mystere and Skyraider! (and Provost too!)

Very interesting technique, I really like to see how they look after metal!

It does not look at all, by the time I achieved metal uniform enough I lost all the preshading.

It might have cost you the pre-shading Marek, but that is a great looking even finish. I've yet to manage the pre-shading thing, each time I try it I always manage to cover it up with the later coats and thus lose the effect. I will try again however and one day I might manage it

James indicated that laying of translucent alclad layers would make this possible, I just have not gotten there yet. Will get there eventually.

I've tried pre-shading with AK Metallics, but because of the lack of an overall black base, you have to put so much top coat on that it completely obscures any difference. I'm going to post shade with Tamiya Smoke on my B-17 (I think!) to try and get the same effect
Best wishes
