After a long break from kit building I decided to take up a challenge and build 12 kits in 12 months starting from the 1st January 2011, after completing my first few kits of the year, I discovered what I had been missing and have thrown myself back into the hobby.

Since January 2011 I have completed the following:

Very nice collection of builds Splash! I really likr the preshading and overall look of thr red Seahawk. Very nice work, and good luck on the 12:12! I am trying to do the same!

The set up to shot the photos is simple. I have a large card with the concrete printed on four sheets of A4 that were stuck down with glue and the back drop is an A4 print I took at an airfield.

The lighting I either use bounce flash off the ceiling, or two small halogen lights one either side. If you set the thing up at the top of the stairs you can then get a low level shot or set it up on a table, what ever is the easier.

Spark plug leads? I thought they were radiator hoses? Being an American I know nothing of your wrong side of the road driving thingies.

Dirk you have bigger starter motors than the whole of this engine on your cars.

The Mini’s engines varied between 850cc and 1300cc and only had four cylinders with eight valves. The engine was on top of the gearbox and shared the same oil.

We used to have a saying, if you owned a mini and it didn’t leak oil, that only meant one thing, you were out of oil.

But you are right they do look like radiator hoses and must be changed.

Italeri Hawk 100 1/72 update.

The Hawk is a simple kit that goes together with ease, I have now sprayed it and given it a coat of clear gloss and will add the decals when it’s dry.

The hawk looks cool.

I’m now tied up with the Bird Dog and Captured Equipment GB’s, for the Bird Dog I’m doing a float plane version using the spare floats of the Airfix Auster and for the Captured Equipment I finishing a kit I started back in the 90’s which is a spitfire with a Daimler-Benz engine.

wow, a Daimler-Benz Spitfire... very cool idea

What kit are you using for the Spitfire? Where did you get your Bf110 nose from? What are you going to use for decals?
