Re: Splash's workbench
The Mini looks just like my old Mini did.
Where's the plastic washbottle for the windscreen wash? I thought I remembered it lurking around there somewhere.
Cheers

I got drawn into the world of group builds and put the Vixen on hold, it will be next on my list once the two current GB's are over.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Re: Splash's workbench
I have had a good night tonight, I stopped worrying about not having any decals and attempted making my own masks and spraying them.
Using Frisk film I cut out the registration letters in two sizes and applied them to the model and gave them a quick spay of black.
I’m pleased with the results and will try it agin. On the yellow engine cover I decided to draw the panel lines in using a thin strip of dymo tape as a rule and a fine pencil again I’m happy with the end results.
All I need to do now is some light weathering just to tone it all down.
Thanks for all the encouragement and comments.

Re: Splash's workbench
Very impressive mask cutting. I can't get curves that small smooth enough so I've only masking markings of straight lines.

Great work on the lettering - it just doesn´t look right though does it! Like you stuck a dogs nose on the end of it! Interesting stuff.

I quite agree it does look like a dogs nose , it is certainly no griffin powered beauty.Stamford wrote:Great work on the lettering - it just doesn´t look right though does it! Like you stuck a dogs nose on the end of it! Interesting stuff.

Re: Splash's workbench
Weird!
I see you had the same trouble with the wing roots that I did.
Anybody know of a solution to that particular fit issue?

Re: Splash's workbench
The problem I had, was the a/c used three different airfix kits for the nose body and wings, so a poor fit was not a total suprise

Thanks to Dirk I have found a way to fix my floats on the Bird Dog.
