Yes this is not it's first time T but I think I have finally nailed that base colour:



It will hopefully end up looking like this one:



but less weathered.

The single seater has had it's decals removed, been sanded and primed then painted in my attempt at Aegean Blue.



This one will be in flight as I don't have the U\C for it. It should end up looking something like this:

I still need to find a replacement canopy for this one. I have also added some air scoops from Quickboost as these are a very noticeable feature of all F-5a and F-5b but are omitted from the kit.
I think Matchbox based their kit on the first prototype which lacked them. Here is a real one:


So slow progress but better than nowt.
I need to get these two off the bench asap, plenty more in the pile of shame.

Good progress OT. My Shelf of Shame is off to one side and I can't see it whilst working at the bench. I much prefer it that way - out of sight, out of shame

A little more progress on my F-5 duo.

The Greek single seater is just about ready for decals:



I scratch built a centre line pylon using an Esci one as a guide. I decided that this build needed one as my research shows that a centre line drop tank is nearly always carried in Greek service.
It was modified from one I found in the spares box. I also plan to add some underwing stores, probably rocket pods.
I have completed painting the underside since this image was taken.


Still a few small details to add before the whole kit gets a coat of Klear in preparation for the decals. I have found a suitable canopy but will leave it off for now as the pit & pilot need a touch up.
I have a lovely set of decals from Icarus that contain enough roundels, numbers and Greek stencils to do at least six aircraft so you may see a few more Hellenic Air Force F-5 builds on my bench.

We have paint going on the Turkish two-seater. Here I am playing with white tak as a masking aid - not sure how this will work out.



I'll add the blue tonight once I have stripped down my airbrush, I was getting bubble in the paint cup this morning.
I have also started work on the drop tanks.

Looks good OT. My a/c models are almost always clean as for whatever reason I seem to bottle weathering them, unlike military vehicles.
