Nice, Narayan but you seem to be in a rut. Time maybe for a 109?
Really nothing pithy to say.

Re: Narayan's Office
Thanks folks.
I've fallen for it's charms and picked one up. The kids are back in school today and I have the day off so I can make a start today.

Funny you should mention that johnsan. I was planning on doing an Airfix 109 next. However as the Airfix site is my internet homepage which I see everyday and they have had this on their front page for a while now:johnsan wrote:Nice, Narayan but you seem to be in a rut. Time maybe for a 109?

Re: Narayan's Office
Greetings!
The Kate has been parked for a little bit. No reason really but I wanted to have a go at a couple of kits while I was in England recently and had my haul from Telford which included a couple of Eduard weekend editions. Unfortunately I neglected to take any progress shots until now.
I'm doing this in the Algerian scheme. I've done some more painting since the below picture was taken and I'll be applying klear tonight so it's ready for decals over the weekend.
Next up:
I've started painting the topside of the La-7, it's not far behind the L-39ZA.

Very nice! Those two Weekend Editions look very nice...although, in my experience, they should rename the "Weekend Edition" to more of a "Month-long Edition".

Re: Narayan's Office
Excellent choices although I also tend to disagree with Eduard's definition of a weekend - it would take me a hell of a lot longer than two days to build any of their "Weekend" editions!!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Narayan's Office
The concept of a weekend certainly differs between myself and Eduard. However I'm all for their idea of a weekend!

Lovely choice of projects to start,I agree about the weekend time scale.I am a quick builder but I have never managed to build one of these kits in a weekend!

Re: Narayan's Office
Oooh oooh oooh! Some good stuff.
I think I built an Eduard La- of some kind around 2008. I recall the landing gear being butt-jointed, and a real pain to get right. May be wise to build it before the paint goes on?

The L-39 is all decaled up. I'd forgotten how many decals jets have!

Re: Narayan's Office
That is looking great Narayan. I tend to build more jets than prop aircraft but the one thing I dislike about the blow torches is the multitude of tiny stencils. I usually apply a few in a nod towards detail and leave off the majority!

Finished the L-39ZA. That was one looong weekend!
I won't be finishing anything else this year.
See you in 2017!
