Cheers Tom. I have a Sword Tbird and another Bobcat one to go at yet so if a Harrier GB goes ahead then I'll have something to work on.

All the best.

Cheers David. I've shelved the Mil until later. Nothing wrong with the kit, it's the builder that's the problem  .
The 737 is going to be the prototype as it was when NASA had it. Also the Harrier will be a NASA bird. The Hurricane will be OOB markings. I was up there a couple of hours ago but apart from a little painting on the Harrier I couldn't get motivated and kept picking up unstarted kits and thinking about starting them (NOT good)

All the best.

As promised in the GB thread here are some pics of the Airfix Jet Provost T3 I've been working on and will be converting to a T4.

unopened blisterpack. sorry about the blurred pic.
Image
intake sides blanked off and excess cockpit area cut away
Image
Wing leading edge cut back and cockpit floor put in and quilting for cockpit sides from the foil of a scalpel blade pack
Image
instrument panel made and installed, rear bulkhead made and installed and metal bang seats (I know they are the wrong ones but you won't tell the difference under the canopy)
Image
cockpit coaming made from milliput and excess milliput used as extra noseweight.
Image
state of play at the moment, fuselage together and tail feathers on. miss molded nose filled too.

That's state of play as of tonight's pic taking session. MUCH more work to do on this old beast

All the best.

Now I feel old, remember doing that one as a nipper. Nice to see it being done properly

Cheers for the kudos guys.
The JP certainly needed a new model doing of it in plastic. Thankfully Airfix are doing just that next year and the pre-production at Telford looked superb. That probably leaves these old models somewhat redundant. I also have three of the CMK resin ones to go at.
As luck would have it for me I have hundreds of hours working on the real thing so I know what details should be there, or maybe that's a bad thing because I can't fit it all in  There's more to add in the cockpit yet.

All the best.

This is interesting Greg as I am contemplating building the newer (but still old!) T5/Strikemaster kit. Some excellent work here with very worthwhile additions to the cockpit.

The T5 is a great kit out of the box. though it still has a few improvements that can be made. The main one and to be honest the only 'must do' is the line of the rear canopy is wrong. Viewed from the side the rearmost part of the canopy is sloped and it should be vertical with the model on it's undercarriage. Hope this helps.

All the best.

Thanks Greg, I'll keep that in mind. Whether I'll be able to do anything about it is another matter!

Ain't that the truth Greg. I'm going to have to hold myself on a pretty tight rein for the Harrier GB

Loving the JP by the way. Some good memories of Mk.3 and Mk. 5 versions :)

Thought I would post up something I am tinkering with. This is now at roughly where I left off with the original JP. I will dig out the other one and try to finish them off side by side.

All the best.
