Prolific output Paul, and that Canberra looks great despite the canopy trials. I really like AZModels subjects but so far have been underwhelmed by their quality, though it seems like you've got those Hawkers under control.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I keep forgetting I want to do a group photo of the Canberras I've finished so far. Must get around to it.

Mike, in an ideal world I think a combination of the Avis/Amodel and AZ kits would give the best result. I've spent a week dithering over getting the top wings on, but I suspect the Avis kit will be easiest. I've never built one of theirs before so don't know how good their strut lengths are, but OTOH I know that AZ usually get it wrong. I feel bad knocking them, 'cos I like their subject choices mostly, but there are some shortcuts here that shouldn't have happened. IMO, YMMV etc. That's my supply of abreviations for the month used up.

Still, if they look okay when done I'll be happy enough, and the basic materials aren't bad, just the instructions, paint schemes, wrong exhaust for the Audax, one unuseable resin wheel, and as I said, possibly the strut lengths. Hang on, I'm whingeing again. I'll shut up.

This is also awaiting bleaching of the decals for the Queen's Flight example. It's an uncorrected, no-details added (except Aeroclub props) test build to figure out the idiosynchrosies of the kit before I build a couple with the Magna Models conversion/enhancement set. Hence the gaping interior void.

Thankee. 9 in 1/72nd, and the Aeroclub kit in 1/48th. There are 12 more assorted Frogs, Matchboxes and Airfixes in the stash, with a like number of conversion sets. If the 2nd mortgage ever comes through I'd like a modern Pr9 as well. Keep getting distracted - in theory I only build WWI aircraft, but as my old physics teacher used to tell me, theory has never been my strong point.

AZ Hind and Audax. The struts on the Audax are a mess, needing replacement rear centre section and rear of the interplane Ns. The Hind had trouble too but brute force has prevailed there. Still, getting there.



The Avis kit is suffering from a mysterious accident. I came down one morning to find it in pieces all over the desk. Have to remake all the struts, the windscreen, and the gunsight. Unhappy about that. No-one confessed. Perhaps just as well.

The no-longer-a-Texan needs an anti-glare panel, markings and some struts to stick the floats to:

Lots of stuff done, but inbetween I've thrown together a Cooperativa Swordfish.



This is a Frogspawn moulding of the kit with added resin, PE and a small sprue with suitable exhaust and AI radar bits to make a Mark III. There's also a copy of the camo version decals from the Frog/NOVO issues, plus one for a Blackfish. The resin was used on sowling and interior, and some of the PE. A real pain to get to fit but a distinct improvement on the good but ageing Frog kit. The rest, including a vacform cover for the radar position, will be used to improve a Matchbox kit. It has a Mark III option but the Cooperativa bits look more accurate to me.

Decals came from a Russian sheet with no name that turned up cheap somewhere, I forget where. Printed on continuos film but otherwise absolutely excellent in all respects. Something of a suprise for 5 Euros, and there are markings left for 3 more pre-war examples.
