Welcome back Giulio. Your P38 looks beautiful. Did you modify anything on the kit?

No the kit is really nice and well detailled.
I have only sanded al the rivets and rescribed the panel line on the wings, and also open the rear intake of the radiators, like you can see on this picture. (before and after)

The cockpit with a little work of punch-and-die and patience.

The canopy is very thin and clear.
Pay attention to put weight on the nose and on the engines nacelles!

Now, after the matt-paint. looks so:

This is the plane flown by Col. Luigi Tondi, was captured on 12th June 1943, when an USAF P38F directed to Malta, following a wrong compass indication (30 degree of error on the instrument), landed at Capoterra in Sardinia.
Col. Tondi, shoot down one B17 and damnaged other two, one week later, in the sky of Torvajanica, about 20 Km at south of Rome, on the Tirrenic coast.
Due to the lack of spare parts the plane was able to effect only two mission against the USAF Bombers.
It was destroyed at Guidonia in July, during an allied attack.

The P38 is finished! :-)

Whit a little bit of extra-work, the Airfix kit is superb and easy to assemble.
