The 109 no longer looks as pristine as above. Far from it!
Decals are on. H Models decals performed well, just need a little care to float them on to allow final positioning. Stencils came from the kit (Revell, 1996, very matt decal film). These, too, behaved well.
The top row of photos show the weathering achieved with paint shades and oil streaking applied with a brush, and panel wash in major panels and control surface hinge lines.
The lower row of photos shows the result of airbrushed Tamiya X-19 Smoke, much diluted, for post-shading and exhaust staining.
And also the loss of one mainwheel leg. This will be a %$#@&! to reattach strongly.
With all the fiddly bits looming, I am starting to feel the urge to start another kit!
