That Zero is shaping up very nicely.

That's really coming along wonderfully!

That gun sight is a great detail that will no doubt enhance an already outstanding model!

You ain't seen nothing yet! (And in this scale you may see nothing though the canopy).
The gunsight is part 1 of a 4-part gunsight arrangement!

There are 2 reflector glass panes between the 'manual' gunsights.

That is one serious gunsight! It's like you saw me forget to include one in my 109, and decided to compensate :D

Man alive that is a serious bit of extra detailing, David, those gunsight parts must be tiny! Great stuff.

Airfix starter set Zero nearly done. Just have to matt the canopy frames and fill the nav light positions with Kristal Kleer.
The propeller is not permanently fixed



And the Hasegawa 1/72 P-47D has had decals applied.
The Humbrol satin red on the cowling is not yet properly dry 24 hours after airbrushing! The paint was very thick in the tinlet, and I thinned with lacquer thinner as I usually do.



Soon I have to get back to masking the 1/72 Gnat for the dayglo colour.

A really great looking pair of warbirds there, David. In my experience, Humbol satin paints are a bit on the gloopy side, not unlike full-on gloss paints. I can't say that I've experienced lengthy drying periods with the satin range though and I have used them quite a few times. The main difference here between our respective methods of application would seem to be that I always thin enamel paints of all types, including clear coats, with cheap DIY store white spirits.

French Thunderbolt looks really cool too. I like the worn look of the wing stripes.

Nice looking builds. That zero canopy is horrible to mask and paint. I really like how your Jug is coming together.

Thanks! No masking; painted by hand (2 colours plus matt coat), and tidied up with a toothpick!
