Re: Random Vandalism
Very close to done on the Falcon. The vacform canopy behaved itself. Shock!
The Sikorsky/Tarpon is chugging along. Brush painting acrylics is always fraught with peril....

Re: Random Vandalism
Sikorsky, Falcon all finished and posted up in their own threads.
Now onto something a bit different. Does anyone know what this is and what modification I've done to it?

Re: Random Vandalism
Looks like a Japanese city type car to me, perhaps a Suzuki Wagon R on steroids? Or maybe, just maybe, a Skoda as I think they made something resembling that. Either way, there looks to be some sporty mods such as the front air dam, wide arches and chunky wheels!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Random Vandalism
Is it a Nissan Cube? Flared the guards and widened the wheels?

It's the Fujimi kit.
The wheel flares are from a Mazda RX3 kit (two kits, actually - two pairs of front flares used), as are the deep dish Watanabe rims.
I have a love for 1970s cars but this little modern masterpiece catches my eye every time, because of the way it channels 1970s styling, so I had to build one.

Re: Random Vandalism
David,
I actually run a 1997 Suzuki Wagon R. Better looking than the Nissan Cube, I reckon.
Loads of character!
cheers,
David

Re: Random Vandalism
They are a cool car too and I've always had a soft spot for them, but personally I much prefer the styling of the Cube.

The Cube is finished. Thread here: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=13044;
Not sure what to move onto next. I'm off on two weeks vacation tomorrow. I'll be taking hobby gear but it will need to be something simple and OOB. Possibly the New Tool Hurricane Mk1 I was given recently. And/or another car - the Toyota TE27 Levin.
Probably no updates while on hols though.

Re: Random Vandalism
Nice one VV, the Cube turned out very well and looks great with the sporty additions and colour scheme. I still see Wagon R's on the roads over here from time to time.

Re: Random Vandalism
Cheers Shaun
On vacation staying with friends, I have been afforded a desk to set up for when the weather is not good enough to go to the beach. It's pretty packed as the Lesser Vandals are also working on their models. I brought up a 1/24 Mitsubishi Galant, a Mk1 Hurricane (not yet started) and a DH.88 comet....along with the wee ones' models (Spad, Fokker DR1 and Les Mureaux parasol).

Re: Random Vandalism
Well, the Hurricane is on hold and will probably come out again if a GB comes along.
Instead I have dug out a pair of Avro 504K kits that I started about 6 years ago. One Airfix (grey plastic), one by Amodel (white). The Airfix is the better kit - Amodel make pretty crude short-run monstrosities.
Both are fictional builds from John Harris novels:
The Mercenaries (an Ira Penaluna novel) - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3049 ... ercenaries;
and
The Revolutionaries (A Martin Falconer novel) - http://www.chaucerheadbookshop.co.uk/si/2952.html;
Both will be in much the same scheme - ex-RAF 1920s civilian Avros with overpainted or heavily faded roundels.
Owing a great debt to this build: http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... 08&t=43604;
I have added interior framework to the Amodel and need to add it to the Airfix. I've built a floor for the Airfix and will probably do the same for the Amodel and throw away the kit part.
The seats for both are shocking and needed to be sanded down heavily. You can see one grey airfix seat unmodified with the odd squared off shape they used. The other has been sanded down to look more like the wickerwork seats of the period.
