Thanks David. At some point I'll bring some along to a club meet.

The Savoia I managed to finish a few weeks back (finally!)

I seemed to have finally scored a bit of building time in the last few days.
I thought I would open a window into my actual workbench, since most progress pics are posted in build threads. Sharing the flat with three small children (you can see their detritus below  ) and having the dining table as the only workspace, I have to be able to set up or pack up at a moment's notice and leave no trace that I was ever there - ninja modelling  . I have it down to a pretty fine art now. One drawer for acrylics, one for humbrol enamels, one for tools, one for glue. Other stuff like satin coat rattle cans hides in one of the black storage boxes that I have claimed. Projects live in the cabinet where there is limited space. This stops me being too ADHD with my projects.
I thought maybe this setup could give other people ideas who are similarly strapped for space.

Ninja modelling, perhaps a whole new sport to rival the likes of Xtreme Ironing ;-) , your setup looks to be a fine comprimise between the various aspects of life as we know it.

Excellent biggles whiff build VV, do you plan to revive the Biggles GB idea for this year?

The blue one is a Biggles build but I'm waiting til I have it finished then I'll post it up in its own thread
The camel in the middle is a Biggles build too. I put a pic in my 8 Sopwiths thread.

P.S. I managed to double book myself so I can't get along to IPMS this weekend  :frown:
I was planning to bring the Felixstowe. Ah well, next month.

I'm not sure about this one. There was less interest than I would have expected. We could always look at reviving it for late in the year or perhaps early next year. I'm open to suggestion. What are your thoughts?

Another Ninja modeller reporting in... though not as organised, mine stuff sits in a little wicker shelf unit... with plastic bags for sanding materials, filling materials and masking materials.

You always have interesting builds going on.

Cheers
Jim

btw I'd be up for a Biggles GB. Was it you that posted a list of aircraft that appeared in Biggles books?

As a fan of the books I'm up for this, it would be fun and it may lead the way for more personal Biggles builds within the forum-who knows. Perhaps we should have another poll for a start date late this year or early next?

The biggles bench looks quite nice, how is the temperature though, as I've heard of the Mainlands higher temperatures. Meanwhile, it's still nice and cool in TAS with 17C.

Sydney isn't a drama, plus I live right on the coast. I wouldn't live in Queensland for quids though....

A Biggles whiffer! What a find! :-D

Love Biggles, and still have a few books with me. Maybe you can help me with a nagging memory I have of a book where Biggles and the baddies all fly fictional aircraft with names like 'McDougal J45' :???: etc., and in a "dog-fight' Biggles throws a large can of corned beef (or something!) and hits the other plane causing it to crash! Would love to know if you remember this and maybe you even have the book?

Cheers!

Biggles Flies North.
Algy, leaning out of the side window of the "Bluewing Jupiter" hurls a crate of corned beef at the bad guys' "Weinkel Transport" (which had just shot down Wilks' "Rockheed Freighter"), shattering its mainspar and sending it into the floor.
http://www.biggles.info/Details/18/;
I own a copy, in an omnibus though, not on its own.

I built a Weinkel (using a HE70 kit) a while back. I'm currently working on both the Rockheed and the Jupiter.

David, I'll redo the GB thread with a poll at some stage in the soonish.
