I just got the new Roden Super VC10 in BOAC markings. Father's Day was a good haul this year. Large Dambuster's Picture and the missing RN WWII Camo Book.

I must say, the Roden kit is very nice. The decals are not as sharp as I would have liked, but I have a specialist set.

The Viscounts are having to go on the shelf for a few weeks, while I get ready for Model Mania at Shildon. I have a number of Battle of Britain models to complete.

Here is one of the staged ones being posed.

An Airfix Bf 109E in a slightly different scheme.

New storage boxes. I need to make some form of filler for them, but the idea works.

Some really nice builds.

Thanks for kind comments, chaps. Here are a few bits and pieces as I work towards next week's show.

The part of the Beaufighter MkIf will be played by this old Frog kit, which has the short span tail planes. I decided to make a mould to make a few more of these for future builds.
Image
Here they are. ( If anyone needs a set, please let me know. )
Image
And fitted.
Image
Some new Radials for the build. Plus some others that I have cloned.
Image
New cannon ports. Drilled and tubed.
Image
Large spinners on this aircraft. Internals were scratchbuilt with card and some instrument panel parts. The old canopy is in good order after 50 years.
Image
Having noticed that Airfix give you a spare / alternative wing lamp transparency I have cut away the solid wing piece. More later.

A spare Academy Bf 109E gets the chop. I will tidy the 'Grass' and add a soldier. Bullet holes: Flatten a paperclip tip, heat over a candle, let rip.
They don't usually appear in a neat row, apart from in films.
Image

Hurricane moving on. May change the string.
Image

Making a headlamp glass. Heat sprue and press onto a file. Can't remember where I saw this, but passing it along, anyway.
I made lots of small ones for the Beau.

Lovely work on that Beaufighter - Nice to see the old kits are still being built.

Great work all around in fact - Love those lamps.

I will post a few photos of the show later. The resin bits seemed popular.

Some photos to link up with the workbench.

The show includes a modelling display, though I was so busy talking to people, I got very little done. Still, a lot of people went away with things to try.

The resin castings had a lot of interest shown and I gave a lot of test shots to modellers.
