Lovely work Chuck - I do like that 109 in particular. What did you use for the grass on the base?

A hanging basket liner from B&Q. It's not even painted.

I have to replace mine every year, as the local birds use them for building their nests.

Genius - Love the headlamp trick too.

Fantastic work, Chuck, a fine pair of dios. The headlight tip is excellent and I'll store that one away for the next time I have a military vehicle kit on my bench that has poorly moulded lenses.

Marvelous output and tips here, Ian!
Love the dioramas, and of course, the old kits getting a look in.

Cheers,

David

I love to keep going back to the old kits. I still have quite a few to do. This will be part of my display for a show that I'm doing next year.

One of the members of our old model club died recently and his son passed on all his many boxes of models to us. I have managed to find storage for a number of the completed kits of subjects already in my collection. Many were from old releases as far back as 50 years. At least they didn't end up in a skip, as so many have done in the past. We have a few unmade kits to build, too. It all gets back to what will happen to our stuff when we head to the big model shop in the sky. We are looking at local air museums at the moment.

I've been having a bit of fun with rebuilding / tidying up some of the models I built many years ago, when they were new releases.

Starting with this model that I built around 50 years ago.

A lot more old kits here, including a few old matchbox Phantoms.

Building Comets. Photos here . . . . https://www.flickr.com/photos/23594891@ ... 8039374635;

Also building this . . . I picked it up very cheap at a model show. I do like AMT kits. Once decals are in place, it will be matt varnished.

This model weighs a ton. The amount of lead and a ball bearing required to keep it on it's nose wheel was considerable. I even had to add lead to the forward half of the fuel tank.

That Tigercat looks fantastic in black!

Will look forward to the Grand Reveal,

Aha!
The Airfix Firefly is one of my favourites, and I have a couple preserved in the stash (plus one built).
And I have a Tigercat in quite good condition to possibly restore one day.

Great choices!

A few shots of what I have been up to over the last few months.

Banshee decals from Fearless Frankie, with thanks.

A real classic. Love this kit. 11 out of 10. VFM, alternate parts, detail, accuracy and ease of assembly.

Image
Kate from the Midway set.

Image
New Airfix Bucc. Not perfect, but it eventually went together. No filler needed. Some warped parts.
