Re: Clashcityrockers Stage
Fired this up in anger for the first time today
Connected up to this Iwata airbrush
Both Christmas presents from the family. Used this orange paint
To give me this
Got a bit heavy with the paint at the back end. Can't see it too well in the pic, but there is a slight paint run
Very pleased with how it all went, not least how quiet the compressor is and the fact that I can spray indoors out of the weather

Looks a good job from here Nigel!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Wow. That's a neat looking compressor coupled with a very good airbrush. Well done.
Is that a Cougar your building there? I do like the orange in any event. Might just pick up a bottle to apply on my Chipmunks high-viz markings.

Orange went on beautifully Nigel. Compressor and airbrush are such a great force multiplier. Really good it has a tank. It smooths out the compressor pulses and I think it is the only way to truly regulate the air pressure. What is the max pressure it can go to?
Really nice Emil on the previous page too.

Re: Clashcityrockers Stage
Thanks guys.
59 North, it is the Hasegawa 72nd scale Cougar, as for the orange, I can't vouch for it's authenticity to any FS or BS numbers, it's just orange
PGAS, maximum pressure on the gauge is 100 psi. Don't think I'll be crankin' it that high
Masked up ready for the black nose panel. Tape and kitchen foil. Used a rattle can for this.
That is fully painted black. The orange is my Hi-Vis shirt reflected in the paint
While the black was out I spray primed a previously built Airfix 72nd scale Cromwell
Gotta love warm sunny days

Re: Clashcityrockers Stage
That's a great looking scheme for the Cougar, Nigel. Pity the paint has crept in under the masking and you might have to break out the airbrush to correct it. Personally I can never make touch ups by brush on an airbrushed finish look very good but of course you might be better at it!

Definite shame about the paint bleed; I hope that it can be sorted esily

That Cougar looks a nice kit! Got it deep in the stash, as well.
Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Re: Clashcityrockers Stage
Cougar's shaping nicely. Always seems to be a spot that lets paint in! I am sure a tiny bit of sanding and a little go with the airbrush would clear it up nicely.
100 PSI from the compressor! wow. Even if you don't need it, it is good to have the flexibility if you require. Never know what pressure you will need with different types of paint.
