(except you!)
Indeed....That is why it must need sorting out!

Here's my attempt at sorting it out...

Image

This time around i filled and sanded before priming, although I wasn't completely happy with the job i did so i filled again after priming. Next time i will do better!

I'm going to give it a couple of coats of Olive Drab to help with the flaky paint look. I'm doing the whole plane even though only certain area's will be masked in order to keep the final coat of paint uniform. Here's how it looks at the moment...

These bits are also being painted...

The Jag is flying together (no pun intended  ) although it looks to be presenting its fair share of building challenges. I was unaware of the Italeri/Tamiya licensing arrangement myself.

Hi guys,

Work is still slowly progressing on the Jag. It's mostly built but i'm trying to build up the very thin paint on the body before doing anything else.

Image20140916_230416 by Blueberryruby, on Flickr

Notice how the ejection seat handles have gone? I didn't until it was too late  So i am going to try and fashion some new ones out of very thin wire.

It will be good practice for this "kit" that i brought.

Image20140916_230429 by Blueberryruby, on Flickr

It was the only kit of a Percival Prentice that i could find and it was silly expensive. My granddad used to work on these when he was in the RAF and i wanted to make him one for Christmas (sorry to mention it this early).

I knew the kit would be basic but this is crazy! I'm going to be doing a lot of scratch building. Oh and it doesn't have any decals but i think my spares should be able to handle that.

In other news Mrs Blueberry and I have had some success recently. Behold our super tasty Viennese whirls!

The Jag looks well put together as do the Viennese whirls  The Prentice looks a little more involved. Keep asking questions on here if you need help with it, there are some who do great work with vac forms, and I'm sure they'd only be too happy to welcome another into their ranks.

After about 6 coats I've finally got the main paint scheme looking how i want it on the the Jaguar! It has taken me AGES but life and enamel paints keep slowing things down.

Lovely Jag BR. I have quite a soft spot for these as I used to work on them back in the 90s.

I know what you mean about Tamiya reboxing Italeri kits too. I bought their Mig-29. There I was expecting a state of the art Tamiya model to arrive and then I opened the box to find a familiar set of sprues staring back at me. They didn't even other to change the decals. :frown:

Nice one Blueberry, that paint looks very good. The Jaguar is a good looking aircraft IMHO but I also like the F-4 Phantom and some heathens would say that my judgement is therefore impaired :ha:

I spent another hour window shopping but only came away with £4 Matchbox A7 Corsair II. The decals look terrible but the rest of the model looks pretty good.

I managed to not spend any more and just marvelled at the models on show.

They have really grown on me the more i see videos of them flying at rooftop level at silly speeds! So if you worked on them you should be able to help out with the details..... like when is the hole in the middle of the spine that runs along the top of the aircraft and what colour was it?!

and did the ejection seat have ring handles above the pilots head?

My congrats to Mrs Blueberry!

Nice Jaguar!

I think that modeling is a subtle mix of zen philosophy and absolute crazyness - but in my case I would not dare to specify the respective percentage of each......
