Thanks Clash, I think one of the things I'm most pleased about is I've managed to keep the gun turrets on the upper and lower fuselage moving.

I managed to get a few hours at the bench last night but I only got the complex main gear build for the Badger.
The rest of my time was spent getting my airbrush working again.
I left it for a few months and the needle became painted in.
I did get to the point of buying another airbrush thinking there was no hope and what do you know as soon as the "buy it now" button was pressed the needle jumped free and I was able to clean the whole thing.

Well tidy work on the Tu-16.

I have managed to get all the clear parts on and shes now ready for the bottom coat of klear.
Now that my airbrush works again I am able to do so and if I get chance I may just do that tonight.
I'm still a little unsure on what decals to put on her though.
I have the decals for the Soviet Naval Air Force version, do you all think these decals would look ok on a silver Air Force airframe?

A fine collection of builds for the year. I have found that I too have built more models in one year than I have before. This forum has been great.

Your work on Soviet aircraft is impressive. Nice Tu-16. I personally think that the decals would look fine on a NMF aircraft. Reds stand out nicely. The kit looks like it would be daunting build for a NMF. It is huge.

Yes it is a huge build!
Once I'm done with the TU-16 I'm going to start my Hasegawa B-47 and then when that's done Il be building the Airfix Valiant for a comparison display at Telford in November!

Ok so last night and this morning g I got to work painting the underwing mounted cruise missiles and they are huge!
Her is one Sat next to a Hawk just to show how big they are:

I also got the wheels painted silver so whilst I'm waiting for the paints for my Blitzbau build I'll do some more work getting the 16 finished.

She's nearly there!
The gear and wheels were finished and glued and all antenna glued too, now all that needs to be done is finish painting the antenna, decals, put the 2 Cruise Missiles Un and finish off with a layer of klear:

What silver did you use for the NMF?

It's Halfords Stardust Silver.
I was recommended it by a friend who's done alot of Soviet Cold War Aircraft.
Silly question but what does NMF stand for?

NMF = Natural Metal Finish!
The bane of many modellers!

Ahh ok haha I feel a little silly now!

I agree, that is a great looking NMF on the Tu-16 Mav. I've heard good things about Halfords rattle cans and did you spray this straight out of the can or did you decant it into your airbrush first? I keep meaning to try Halfords Appliance White, which regularly gets recommended for white finishes, but haven't got round to it yet.

Yes it's straight from the can mate.
I really like halfords rattle cans as they're so easy and nice to use and have the price os Cytidel paints.
