That engine looks just right.

That engine should be in a museum as an exhibit! That's a cracking little build in it's own right, and hard to believe it's only 1/48!
Best wishes
Jim

Re: Toby's table top turmoil
Thanks all. Interior now finished. Not overly happy with the seatbelts. They're two ply and are hard to manipulate. Would be far better if they were single ply. Also it would make feeding them through the buckles a lot easier. As it is I gave up but I doubt it will be that obvious once the fuselage is attached.

Toby C,
Very sorry to read about the Junkers J.1. You were doing such a nice job on it. I remember a long time ago I had a completed 1/72 Bell 47 and had set down next to a window. When I got back from work I found it broken on the floor. The wind had blown the curtain and caught the model, flinging it on the floor. A little later, my kids, who were 5 and 7 at the time, had seen that I was upset fixed it for me with a splash of white glue and tape! A little worse for wear but I think I liked it better that way.
The Stearman is looking great now. Great job bringing the detail out on the engine. The interior is very nice. Lots to look at in the office. I do not see any problem with the seat belts, they look spot on to me. I also really like the bright yellow paint schemes from the interwar years. Looking forward to seeing which version you choose to model.

It is a great little kit. I'm beginning to really warm to it. Everything fits very well and no fettling has been needed yet. I can recommend it.

Re: Toby's table top turmoil
Progress is slow as I've been out enjoying myself on The Flying Scotsman on the Blue Bell railway.
Anyway fuselage now joined up, nose paraphernalia added and wings are painted.
