One of the little idiosyncrasies of this kit is the attachment method for the main wheels. They're little more than butt joints

I can't believe that of a 1/48 Canberra. Just another pothole in the dirt road of Airfix evolution?
But, wow! The model is looking very smart now! Worth the effort!

That is a great looking Canberra Daz, although it put up quite a fight! I also cannot really get my breath at Airfix's crap design of wheel attachment for a model of this size and, I presume with a fair bit of nose ballast, weight.

Time to calm down and post a quick update.

With the Canberra out of the way (apart from some post-show repairs and the need to fit the damn thing to a base ) I could finally get some headway with the Texan. I managed to get it built up to a stage where I could close the fuselage over just 2 evenings. It has it's issues but it's quite an enjoyable kit so far.















I'm going to be doing a bit of filling and fettling on those fuselage seams but it's generally gone together quite well.

Occidental original, I believe.
