I also added the jet intakes. These have the numbers switched on the instructions
They do fit nicely once you realise that they should be switched!

Nice to see you back Andrew!
I'll remember that about the intakes when I build mine!

Got bogged down with teaching. Biggest classes ever - 300 and 250 students.jssel wrote:Hey Andrew. Getting busy on the bench again. Beautiful.
Just too difficult to find time to get anything done.

Also, watch the ginormous sprue gates on the fuselage. They are okay on the rest of the components.Sir T wrote:Nice to see you back Andrew!

Thanks. It's a nice kit.celt wrote:Nice work on the Scooter.
I put most of the tub together. The seat frame is split into two parts and then the cushions are another two parts. The cushions seem to be too wide for the seat. Some clamping done to try and fix this. The backplate also needed a bit of trimming to fit in. The airbrakes, on the other hand, fitted perfectly, and sit nicely flush with the fuselage. I even remembered to drill the holes for the centre-line pylon.

Andrew! great to see you back! The new tool Skyhawk should be just the job to get the modelling juices flowing again after a bit of a lay off.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

After a long break and a lot of did-not-finishes, here is the Airfix DH4.
Some pin marks to clean up, and the wing trailing edges are a bit ragged. The pilots are HO size chappies, so I'll leave them out, although they are reasonably well moulded.
The bombs are also not very impressive, so they will be omitted too.
The fuel tank is apparently on the wrong wing, but that's a simple fix.
I've put the seats in one half of the fuselage, and given it a blast of Vallejo Sand Primer, so I should be able to close up the fuselage in short order.
cheers
Andrew
PS Nice to be back

I can echo Shaun's comments totally; really good to see you back Andrew, and equally as good to see you back at your bench.
Looking forward to seeing the DH4 progress; always one of my most favourite WW1 aircraft (although strangely I've never built one )
Best wishes
Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Normal service has ben resumed Welcome back.
It'll be nice to see this come together. I've just finished the Camel in the Vintage Aircraft box.

Not sure "Normal" covers it...
Anyhow, here is the fuselage together. I gave the seat and observer's stool a quick spray of Vallejo wood (I also put a coat on the propeller too). The fuselage is quite a nice fit. The next step is a bit of grey paint on the seams to check for bumps and nasties.Clashcityrocker wrote:Normal service has been resumed Welcome back.
