Thanks Asoka - Yeah I thought that would be the case too. I'd be interested to see how it compares to a P-47 though.Asoka wrote:Looks a good one! And I also expected the Mustang to be bigger...

Hi Stuart,
I'm sure the Jug will dwarf the Messer... Here is a comparison of it with a Spitfire and a Zero, the Spitfire looks quite big...
Cheers,
Asoka

Three nice builds there.
Interesting that, I think the basic dimensions are about the same, but the 109 is a much more slender aircraft.
I think the Jugs dwarfed just about everything!

Yes, the Me-109 had tiny flying surfaces in comparison with the others... And while the Jug maybe huge in the WW2 arena, it is about the same size as 'tiny' jets like the Alpha Jet!

IIRC, the P-47 was the largest, heaviest, single-seat, single-engined fighter of the war.

Yes, Andrew's Spit and Jug are very nice.
I noticed your message in the "rant" thread re a shared build for the good old Airfix F-111E Stuart. That sounds like a plan as long as you're not in a rush to get started! I have the two 737's to finish and next up is more than likely going to be a build of the new tool Airfix Dambuster Lancaster, built as a standard bomber version. I have some nice decals for the 111 though, depicting a special scheme to celebrate the 1976 Bicentennial.

Nice choice. I've not seen it before so I'll watch here.

I don't envy you doing that metallic gray RAM paint. Be interesting to see what you do with this kit,
Really nothing pithy to say.

The Jug has a massive fuselage compared to the other machines, plus very chunky wings - a good rival to the Hurricane. It's also very high off the ground, so it looks BIG.
Cheers

Yeah.... I hadn't quite got that far... I could spray it silver then build up some thin coats of grey perhaps....johnsan wrote:I don't envy you doing that metallic gray RAM paint. Be interesting to see what you do with this kit,

I Might try and build mine as part of the D-Day GB. See if I can get some 9th AF markings with D-Day stripes.

Actually there's part of me that fancies doing it up as some kind whiffer in SEA or European Camo. I think the F-35 would look pretty cool in a camo scheme.Sir T wrote:Yeah....
