The Lightning is just waiting for my new pot of Satin varnish to arrive - Then it's final assembly. I've got a fair bit of tidying to do on the gear doors and I would normally replace them with plastic card but I'm building this for a ooo GB.

Hi Stuart,
just looking through your thread, having returned from sunny Cuba. I notice that you have populated your Hawk rear seat with seat belts - I have to say that what you really should do is cover most of the seat with a green 'apron', we never flew solo with the seat uncovered as the rear-seat apron was stowed in a side pocket. The apron covered almost all of the seat and prevented any chance of the harness straps or leg restrain cords from fouling the flying controls/throttle.

Update!!!!

The F.3 has it's wheels on...



Stupidly however I used glue rather than superglue - which means it's all rather floppy...

And I've started putting decals on the Suez Corsair - I love French Navy markings.

Great masking job on the Corsair Stuart. And the wobbly Lightning undercarriage will probably be fine once the glue cures...

I tend to use Revell Contacta poly cement on plastic u/c's Stuart and they are usually strong enough once the glue has set and, TBH, I like the additional working time that the Contacta gives over CA. I'm just not really a fan of CA period.

That is a great looking Corsair, those French Navy Suez markings really look good on it.
