I have dodgy colour vision so I don't tend to fuss too much about total accuracy and nor do I get involved in those arguments about shades that spring up from time to time - I go with whatever shade the paint manufacturer says it is, what paint shade is recommended on the kit instruction sheet or ask the wife to match up colours against photos if I'm uncertain!Sir T wrote:I 100% agree Shaun. I'd much rather paint in matt and then apply my own clears over the top - even if it's not a wholly 'accurate' colour.
TBH - that's two builds this year where I've been really happy with the construction and have then knackered it with the paint. As much as I enjoy wielding the Hairy stick I'm really looking forward to getting my airbrush!
I'm a big fan of airbrushing and have been since the 90's. I was never satisfied with my ability to get a decent paint finish using a brush and found that an airbrush was the only way I could get anything like a decent finish - although in my hands, an airbrush does not guarantee that . My brushes now only get used for detail stuff and minor touch-ups.
