I have been looking through UAMF for a few days now and everybody is really talented, I can not hope to achieve the standard of work that is on display and the choice of subjects is amazing. Great work Mike W.

Thanks for the kind words Sir T but as a user of the hairy stick single paint schemes are easy, camouflage is a lot harder to do well.

Just finished up the Karaya (ex-Kopro and whoever else has released it!) 1/48 Sukhoi Su-17M4.
This is a truly awful kit and fought me all the way. Not quite the fabled "Filler queen" but I did have to break out the putty on most joins/seams.
I added some pieces from the CMK (I think) cockpit set, but the Karaya boxing included a nice resin seat.
First time using MRP paints for full camo job , quite impressed with them.

What a stunner! For the look of the finished article it definitely looks worth all the effort. Excellent work Mike.

Thanks chaps.
I'll not build another in a while, too much like hard work.

Next up is the Trumpeter 1/48 Sukhoi Su-15 Flagon A.
Not an easy build, but much better than the Kopro Su-17.

Adding all the aerials and air scoops etc...oh and some putty!

Image

Nose and tail tip painted green and masked off, Tamiya AS-12 Silver from the aerosol, decanted for airbrush use for the metallic base...

More Russian hardware hot off the bench...
Trumpeter 1/48 Sukhoi Su-15 Flagon A all finished. Bit of a fight but nothing insurmountable . Strange looking beast innit?
Straight from the box, painted with Tamiya AS-12 Silver decanted for the airbrush and some Alclad shades for shading. Weathering is artists oils and Hogwash. Final varnish is Alclad Klear Kote Slight Sheen.

Russia's "Missile with a Man in it". Very nice work. The nose on that monster is really something.

That is a really great NMF Mike and I agree, the Flagon is a little challenged in the looks department!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!
