I'd love to do something, but really not sure I have any good ideas.

Cheers, Shane - don't worry about style too much, as I will edit if necessary to prevent anyone looking daft. Well, most of the time...... :ha:

Something I'd like to have a go at. However, my concern is the photography and the standard required of the images and backgrounds.

Also, would ballistic and winged missiles count - they do fly and they were/are (mostly) made by the same companies that make aeroplanes.

Eric, I take a lot of my finished shots outside on a simple base - gives me sufficient depth of field and a benign background. Others do invest some cash in photo booths and DSLRs - I have all that as well, but I don't have space for a permanent set up (and its awkward to set it up temporarily, even!). Really, as long as you can take some shots that are in focus with good depth of field and have a benign backdrop, you're golden - I can work on them in Photoshop to clear up most other issues.

Ballistic missiles - no, but winged missiles we might be able to get away with. If you have something specific in mind, drop me a message.

I was in the process of building the Revell Atlas missile - but that's obviously out as it's a ballistic missile. Poor old spacecraft - it's hard to find "space" for them in magazines as they fall outside most of the normal categories.

I'm also currently working on the 1/72 Revell/Monogram X-15 - which would qualify as it dates from 1987 which fits the "age" criteria. However, I started it on holidays and have not taken pictures of the build due to not being in my normal; modelling environment when I started.

Not all articles include build shots. :) I prefer those that do, but it isn't 100% essential and I use those that don't.

Sadly (given the huge diversity of classic plastic subjects), I think the publishers of Scale Aviation Modeller International prefer wingy things. I have a memory that Migrant once got away with a Snark, but that was a missile as big as a good size aeroplane... and it did indeed have wings.
The Snark was actually published in AMW Matt, but I did once get away with the Airfix Bloodhound (complete with trailer and Land Rover) in SAMI ;)

I do have a couple of projects on the slow burner for Paul, unfortunately they keep getting pushed back behind SIG builds. He knows what they are and I will pull my finger out once I am back in the UK
