I picked up a couple of these books cheap during SMW2014 and have spent the rest of the year collecting the rest. The format of these books will be familiar to most people in the UK as the publishers are better known for producing books that fill the local history section of the local bookshop. There are a few pages of text giving the history of each manufacturer and the rest are devoted to B&W photos of their aircraft with informative captions as well as the occasional picture of the owners and workers. They've been uniformly excellent and very interesting to browse through. Though the majority cover British companies I know the Sikorsky (got), Saab and Junkers are also available. The one British one I don't have is Parnell, whose only successful type was the Plowther AFAIK
Well worth picking up if you come across them.

Re: Archive Photographs Series
The problem is that, over here, I won't just "come across them", so now I have to start the New year with a QUEST - Thanks !

Re: Archive Photographs Series
Bit late for the Works as most were published more than 10 years ago. Btw the publisher changed from Chalford to temple in the early 2000's

Hmmm, I must actually have one -- on the Avro Anson -- the cover design is very similar.

Yes I think there are some releases on individual aircraft too from this publisher. I've got one on the BAe Nimrod.

Someone does them over here too, both aviation and local history only they are called Images of America. I have one on the Cleveland Air Races and I know they do one on Boeing and Boeing Field.
