PSL Classic Aircraft "Their History and how to model them.

Post by T-21 »

I have recently picked up Books 4 & 5 on the Hurricane and Ju87 Stuka respectively. Did the series end with the "B-17 Flying Fortress " by Jerry Scutts softback 1982 which should have been Book No.8 ? If so I am pleased to have the entire collection purchased for around £4 each at various second hand book shops and airshows.
Great reference books for modelling the Airfix 1/24th aircraft and the Monogram 1/48th B-17G.

Re-reading Arthur Wards Airfix books has put it in context . PSL parted from Airfix after December 1977 . Patrick Stephens was the advertising manager for Airfix magazine up until then. The Mosquito book in 1980 is in hardback and thicker than the previous publications. Likewise the B-17 flying Fortress book in 1982 is in softback format.
What a pity the series did not continue. Was there a book on the 1/24th Airfix Harrier ?
