Airfix Model World Jan 2012 HS.Gnat build

Post by T-21 »

Nice centre fold of the new Gnat box art and a build review . There is a 2 page profile plan also. Reminds me of the first one I built in 1964 age 11. Looks a good kit and destined to be a good Airfix seller.

Re: the build review there is a mistake the colour quoted for the dayglo orange should be Humbrol 209, not 208 as stated in the article otherwise a good review.Aeroclub did a nice canopy C022 and ejector seats EJ022 you might be still able to get them.

I think I've got 3 complete sets of the seats  I'm sure John Adams will be aware of the release and makes sure he has stock. I expect Pavla will be all over it shortly though too.

Oh no ! Latest Airfix magazine has an advert for Airfix as if it is currently available . Lots of modellers out there itching for it .
When it arrives a warning. The engine inlets need to be added before the intake walls. Take care fitting the inlets especially aligning the top with the cockpit coaming. If it is at all raised the canopy will not fit properly.

It is written in the Tabernacles The build review in Airfix Model World January 2012 edition. Airfix are keeping us salivating for this one
