SAMI June 2011

Post by T-21 »

CBK have done it again . Nice review by Merlin of the AZ Hawker Demon Mk.1 in 1/72, Paul with the HS.Dominie nice different colour scheme,James with the Fairey Delta.1,another excellent article on sectioning an Airfix Roland C.2 by Mike Grant packed with useful tips again.
Aside there is an excellent article on 3 different schemes for the Xtrakit 1/72 Gloster Meteor T.7.
It proves that you don't have too spend vast amounts on expensive kits to turn out something visually unique and inspiring.

Cheers Nigel. Unfortunately they seem to have screwed up my subscription that I applied for in mid April has I've not had a sausage yet. Thought it might start this month but no looks like I'm going to have to get on the blower come Monday morning.

Odd, I thought they were giving away free books, not groceries......

Well at the moment I'm hungry as I've not had anything. Sent them an email politely pointing out I'm in this month!

Subscription came through yesterday. Just like school having a name beginning with P means I'm further down the list than most.

Another good IPMS/US column by Paul, shame it's you last. It touched on a few issue that have been concerning me about the future of the hobby. Good to see CP being promoted on the cover too.

Cheers, James - I really couldn't keep both going at the same time and I was running out of steam with the IPMS/USA column anyway. Jim Pearsall will do a good job.

I was also pleased to see CP promoted on the cover as well. Gary has been very supprtive, not only of this venture, but of classic kits in general. We should all certainly take advantage while we can as who knows where a future editor's interests might lay. Photos and articles for CP will be gratefully received - just PM me or e-mail me at paul at sampublications.com or classicplastic at uamf.org.uk
