Seem to be good value. Has anyone here got or read them?
Also I notice he does similar journals on WW2 aircraft.

Re: Kenneth Munson WW1 aircraft information
They are nice little pockets books, with colour 2 views (split upper/lower) as set of plates at the front and them text in the rear half of the book. They don't provide a lot in detail for modeller but if you want a handy reference of WWI a/c they make a nice addition to the shelf and may provide inspiration for a build.

Re: Kenneth Munson WW1 aircraft information
I would suggest that they are based on the illustrations that originally appeared in these books back in the 1960s and 70s. I bought about six or seven of these books over the years, starting in 1972 (when I was 14). About 20 years ago, some of them reappeared again as reprints but with the identical layout and format. By modern standards the drawing are a bit crude but they were inspiration to me as a young model builder 40 years ago. Look on them as a historical curiosity.

I remember those Eric.( In fact I've just found the WW2 ones in my book case.) You were right when you said there came a stage when looking up references overtook the time it takes to build a model.

For me, it started about that time.
The other great inspiration for me was Alan Hall and his aviation newspaper, "Aviation News". I started buying it in 1972 (price 10p every fortnight) mainly because of the 1/72 plans in the centre and the kit reviews in the back pages.

I love those old Blandford series books, they had all kinds of topics and are quite detailed too.Eric Mc wrote:I would suggest that they are based on the illustrations that originally appeared in these books back in the 1960s and 70s.
