Model Mania

Post by Chuck E »

Model Mania is on at Shildon on the 6th and 7th of August 2011.

This is a great show and covers a lot of modelling activities.

It shows model railways, but there are a lot more models on show and I always seem to pick up a bargain.

Just a little reminder that it's this weekend. Lots to see and do and some rare kits too. All free ! Here are some links.

You can stand on the footplates of some very famous engines. Mallard is there along with the original Deltic. A guest is the actual Hogwart's Castle from the Harry Potter Films.

Stop and say Hi if you get there. Bobcatfish and I are giving modelling demos both days.

I'll probably turn up at some point Chuck - It's only 10 mins in the car from here.
Am I right in thinking it's in the big building, just off the bottom end of Dale Road, near the bridge.??

Hiya Chuck - was good to meet you today - but sorry I had to skedaddle sharpish while you were talking to someone.
Got a phone-call from the missus - my dog had pushed himself behind the fridge, due to the thunderstorm - he's absolutely scared stiff of it.
My wife is disabled (mobility probs), and the dog is VERY strong, so she isn't able to hold him back.
When I got home, the fridge was halfway out of it's place, with the dog still sitting behind it, shaking.....
Soft sod!

Anyhoo - I didn't get to look round properly today, so am hoping to be back again tomorrow - will hopefully see you again if you're there....

Good evening Chuck nice to have have met you and Bobcatfish at Shildon today, fantastic models you had on display, my grandson was in melt down so much to see, do and buy (we did the buying). Got soaked to the skin in the thunder storm, had to park in top car park, such was the popularity of the event, anybody reading this who lives in travelling distance of Shildon, pop along you will not be disapointed. The R/C model trucks were wonderfull to watch.
Keep up the good work.

I like to do what I can James, as I rarely get to the major events. I always try to steer modellers to this forum at the shows. A lot of people call to see Bob and me during the weekend as they like to see the models being built and they can have a look at some of the older kits that I take along. Some are amazed how nicely moulded some of them are. The FROG Rapide for instance, and the Kitmaster models.

You're quite welcome to use any of these photos for CBK projects.

Thankyou. I think I'll have to have at least one Novo Kit on the stand to keep the historical thread alive. I actually have a Novo Magister moulded in yellow plastic. It's the only NOVO kit that I've seen in this colour.
