"Attack on Rotterdam" May 14, 1940 exhibition

Post by bassman »

Today we visited the "Attack on Rotterdam" exhibition. This exhibtion explains what happened on May 14, 1940. The attack destroyed the old city centre of Rotterdam in The Netherlands. The Dutch army already surrendered but the He-111's couldn't be stopped due to several reasons and the city was bombed.

Centerpiece of the exhibition is a He-111. In fact this He-111 is a Spanish Casa but it gives the idea. This actual aeroplane was one of the stars in the classic Battle of Britain movie. The aeroplane is on loan from the museum in Germany, Berlin Gatow, owner of this He-111.

This is a small but very good exhibition with lots of information (English and German information is available in all shown movies).
