Southern Expo. March 2017 - Photos
As usual, I attended the Southern Expo back in March and I thought some of you might like to see some photos of some of the more outstanding models on display.
Enjoy!
(I wish I could build 'em as good as these ~sigh~)
I hope you like these.
Photos courtesy of my better half, she took 'em all.
Out of interest, what's your personal favourite?
(10 points deducted if you automatically say it's the girl with the stockings, you filthy beasts!)

It's a tie between the crashed Spitfire and the car crash. I love a good wreckZee28 wrote:Out of interest, what's your personal favourite?

Nice pics. Those stockings do look very realistic though………don't they?

Now yhat you mention it, they do. I'd ignored the fanservice initially, but that's some impressive paintwork on the stockings, better than the rest of the figure, oddly enough. A rather strange display; the stockings and coat are great, the rest of the paintwork is very precise, but lifeless.Clashcityrocker wrote:Those stockings do look very realistic though………don't they?

I thought you'd like that one John I thought of you the moment I saw it.jRatz wrote:RRAC, hands down !
The stocking clad girl seems to be generating a almost worrying level of interest!
I personally like the crashed Meteor, there's a lot of detail and finesse in that one.
Thanks for looking guys,

Thanks for posting Zee. I really like the Lansen.
What is that giant Russian thing in the last pic, and who makes a kit of it?

It's a Kalinin K-7, Mike. In the real world only one was built and it flew for the first and last time in 1933. Not one of the USSR's finest designs tbh. As an interesting fact, the wings were ten feet thick, hollow and seated 14 passengers in the civilian version. The Wikipedia link is here:

Don't know who makes a model of it though.
EDIT: A quick check on Scalemates tells me it's an Anigrand kit from Ukraine, the go-to company for anything big, Russian and experimental. Probably pretty expensive though.

Thanks for the info guys. That does sound a little pricey, although I appreciate it's a resin kit. However it does seem like the kind of subject that A-Model or Mikro-Mir might release, so I think I'll wait.

Mikro-Mir are down to release it at some time. There's a picture of the CAD model on Scalemates.Migrant wrote:Thanks for the info guys. Yet you still can't get a decent MiG-19 in 1/72 scale!Spaceowl wrote:Mikro-Mir are down to release it at some time.
