Post by gengriz »

Anyone coming this Saturday ? If you do, please come and say hello. Floods or no floods, Somerset is still open for business!

Mrs T and I have our usual spot in the WW2 hall, in front of the Martlet.

A show I've always wanted to attend, but I probably won't ever. Have a great time though, Fred!

Went last year. I found the venue a bit dark to be honest.

Despite the weather (one detour to avoid a fallen tree, but no flooded roads) it was another fantastic day at Yeovilton as always, a chance to chat with lots of online modelling friends, plus I thought the general standard of models on display had significantly increased this year with some really inspirational work on display.

The WW2 Hall was definitely "the place to be" with a real buzz (we sometimes feel a bit left out compared to the Concorde Hall) and the "RC set" even managed their amazing flying display between rain squalls. Bagged myself one of the very few Airfix Tiger Moths on sale (are they being rationed?) plus plus a few second hand jewels (another FROG Buccaneer and an old Airfix Lightning).

The WW2 Hall:

The Airfix stand - the Swift, Dornier and Dakota all looled like definite "must haves" (the Dornier looks truly spectacular).

And my Mk.1 Martlet even got to sit on the tail of the real thing:

Great pics, cheers for sharing.

Think the model Martlet has something missing though, you should have put an even smaller Martlet on the tailplane of the model. :ha:
