ScaleModel World 2014 Chat

Post by PaulBradley »

Never too early to start.... ;-)

One of the things I was able to get done this weekend was to provisionally book my hotel room for SMW 2014. To share the fruits of my labour, I should let you know that both the International and the Holiday Inn are fully booked for SMW weekend. I was able to get a room at the Premier Inn, which is right next to the train station. Rooms are still available (as of 2/16) with or without breakfast included at the Beefeater restaurant attached to the hotel. Here's a link to the hotel's website:

http://www.premierinn.com/en/checkHotel ... rd-central;

There are also rooms at the Park Inn (as of 2/16), by the shopping centre, but they were about the same price and didn't include breakfast.

http://www.parkinn.co.uk/hotel-telford;

Both are a relatively short walk from the convention centre, although I'm thinking taxi if it's raining.... ;-)

Paul's going to a different event -- most of us go to ScaleModelWorld, to buy things, but Paul is going to SaleModelworld. He'll be disposing of his stash, I guess...

I can see how you would get confused, SaleModelworld would be in a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, in Greater Manchester, as opposed to ScaleModelWorld in the International Convention Centre in Telford, in Shropshire. :ha:

Great news that you are coming over again Paul, and thanks for the heads up on the hotels - I've just reserved a room for Carrie and me at the Park Inn - there weren't many left as you say!

Cheers
Al.
