One of the things I was able to get done this weekend was to provisionally book my hotel room for SMW 2014. To share the fruits of my labour, I should let you know that both the International and the Holiday Inn are fully booked for SMW weekend. I was able to get a room at the Premier Inn, which is right next to the train station. Rooms are still available (as of 2/16) with or without breakfast included at the Beefeater restaurant attached to the hotel. Here's a link to the hotel's website:

There are also rooms at the Park Inn (as of 2/16), by the shopping centre, but they were about the same price and didn't include breakfast.

Both are a relatively short walk from the convention centre, although I'm thinking taxi if it's raining....
well, as long as you don't have anything better to do.....
